Wishing That You Were Mine

Wishing That You Were Mine is an upbeat pop tune, in-line with today's Top 40 dance tracks, but with an 80's retro feel. It has been described as having a sound comparable to such groups as Erasure or Depeche Mode. The pulsing drum measures in the beginning set the beat, followed by the hard synth line that sets the tone. The bridge in the piece includes a dramatic transition into a sweet 4-part harmony that finishes out the piece as backup to the lead vocal. A very catchy melody… You'll find yourself singing along to this one!

Wishing That You Were Mine
(Scott Lindley)

You tell me that you need me here
But somehow it's my love you fear
I'm everyday beside the line
So tell me girl, just what's my crime

Why play me for that fool I am
And play that game because you can
You should have thought about those strings
Cause now I'm taking back those wings

CHORUS:
So find your place in this great big world
Count all the times that your heart's destroyed
And when you look back someday you'll find
You'll be wishing that you were mine

I dried the tears beneath your eyes
And laughed with you in happy times
I breathed to hear your every word
But found for him your heart secure

You shared your hopes and dreams with me
You drank up all my honesty
And now that I have been set free
That other guy can't fill the need

CHORUS

Don't tease that pretty smile my way
Don't think those eyes can melt the clay
I've seen my last of empty grins
I've bled my last drop for your sins

CHORUS
