Live The Dream
The title track of Scott's 2001 CD is a moving
inspirational ballad. Live The Dream questions some of the basic reasons that
our dreams go unfulfilled. From society's expectations, to money and success,
to our own fears of failure, this piece both criticizes and offers words of
hope. This is the first song on the CD that introduces Scott's instrumental
talents on piano and French Horn.
Live The Dream (Scott Lindley)
A dream he had to soar majestically into the sky To
pilot on the luring breeze the eagle as his guide Gliding free above the
earth among the rolling clouds Visioning a life he hoped would make his
father proud
But daddy pressed each passing year, the harvest round the
bend Better that the boy would stay, so many fields to tend Ambitions
all his own, the boy he would defend But he walked along his father's
way
As she danced so gracefully across the room Following
her heart, she set in motion to the tune Such a talent had the girl, so
elegant so pure Such a gift to share with others should not be ignored
But her inner thoughts betrayed her as she grew And
the voice inside her burned, her confidence consumed Waiting tables now and
to herself untrue And the music sadly drifts away
CHORUS: Follow you dream, follow your dream
Weather the storms and raging seas Look straight ahead, go for what you
believe Life is too short, only once chance to live the dream
Colors from the brush would flow across the canvas
page Pouring out his soul onto that white and barren stage With each
stroke he'd grant new life to things his mind had seen Living out his one
true love, his one and only dream
Yet as time went by he felt that money was the key So
he climbed the ladder trying to acheive And the time to paint, it vanished
on the breeze And the color slowly fades to gray
CHORUS
And the hands of time keep spinning, one more day goes
by As we watch, the sun is setting another chance to try Deep inside
the heart is yearning to keep the dream alive Don't let it slip another
day
CHORUS
